Emma is a Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Midwife in the state of CA, through Medical Board of California, and The North American Registry of Midwives. Emma is a member of the California Association of Licensed Midwives. She carries current CPR/BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation certifications.

Emma was born into the hands of a midwife in Portland Oregon. After witnessing the home birth of her younger sibling she quickly felt a pull toward the spaces of pregnancy and birth.

After her rural home birth with her daughter in 2009, Emma began attending births as a doula for several years, as well as supporting families in their homes during the postpartum period

Emma completed her prerequisite programs with Licensed Midwife, Elizabeth Davis, in San Rafael, Ca and enrolled in The National Midwifery Institute where she completed her didactic studies. 

Emma completed her clinical training through hands-on apprenticeship with licensed midwives, throughout Napa, the East Bay Area, Sonoma County, Rural Mendocino County, and Sacramento Ca. Emma sat for the NARM examination, where she received her license to practice midwifery, and her CPM credential through the North American Registry of Midwives, and the Medical Board of California. 

Emma has experience working in varying environments both in rural and urban settings, as well as supporting clients at home, hospital, and birth centers.  

Along the way, she has supported countless families through pregnancy, birth, and the tender early days of parenthood. The heart of her work is a simple belief that birth is not a medical event — it is a human experience. Her goal is to walk alongside the families she serves with compassion, knowledge, and steady support.

When she is not working with families, she can be found producing music, traveling, and soaking up time with her family. Always deeply inspired by the rhythms of life, creativity, and connections.
